The Power of ZEUS™

Zeus Full Zirconia

Zeus Full Zirconia is a great esthetic and strength dominant alternative when PFM with metal occlusal/lingual or full-cast restorations is not desired. It is ideally suited for posterior molar crowns when the patient desires a natural-appearing restoration but lacks the preparation space or has broken a PFM crown in the past due to bruxing. It is also ideal in areas with limited occlusal space. This full zirconia is a versatile material that can be used for single crowns, bridges, inlays/onlays, maryland bridges, implants, and hybrid restorations. Zeus has high durability, offers excellent emergence from tissue blending with soft tissue similar to Gold and is chip resistant. It offers 45% translucency and 1250 MPa in strength.

Preparation

A shoulder prep is not needed, a mild chamfer or feather edge margins is adequate. For buccal, lingual, and occlusal reduction 1mm is ideal, but can go 0.5mm in some areas where further reduction is needed.

Cementation

Zeus Full Zirconia can be cemented using resin-reinforced glass ionomer such as RelyX Luting cement. For maximum bond strength, use resin cement like RelyX Ultimate, Panavia V5 or Multilink Automix. Before delivery to your office, the interior surface of all zirconia crowns is cleaned with Ivoclean and disinfected ready for insertion.

Tech Notes

If adjustments are needed, use zirconia specific diamonds and wheels with diamond paste. Adjust full-contour zirconia crowns and bridges using fine diamond burrs, water, and air spray to keep restoration cold and to avoid microfractures. Restorations can be polished with Brasseler Dialite system or similar substitutes. For a high shine, you can use Ziocon-Brite from DVA with stiff bristle brush or similar substitutes.

ZEUS Fit to Partial

Combination cases, or fitting a new crown to an existing or future partial is easy, it’s also very little downtime for patients wearing a partial. Only one appointment to the lab for about an hour to have the partial scanned into digital and the patient is on their way. The robust strength of Zeus allows you to place crowns under partials with less metal showing at the rest and clasp site.
